Phase 4 - Pilot Implementation and Validation
The PSL has been successfully used to exchange manufacturing
process information between the IDEF3-based ProCAP process modeling
tool and the C++ based ILOG Scheduler. Check out this page for
more information.
The purpose of the fourth phase of the Process Specification Language
Project is to improve the robustness and to validate the initial
"Baby" PSL language and ontology developed in
the third phase of the project. This will involve the exchange of
process information between two existing process-related applications
using the PSL as the interlingua. For the first pilot implementation,
the project will be exchange information between an IDEF3 tool (e.g.
ProSIM, ProCAP) and the ILOG Scheduler. To do so, we will base the
information to be exchanged on the CAMILE
scenario developed by Ken McKay from CAM-I.
A series of diagrams is available to
show how PSL, and more specifically a formal ontology, could be used
for information exchange.
Also available is the informal
documentation for the PSL Version 1.0 Specification (in RTF
format). The full Version 1.0 Specification will follow shortly.
