Abstract:
-
As a result of the review, we have focused and clarified the
objectives of the Framework project as follows:analysis of
specifications for relationships to existing standards and
specifications and for internal consistency, testing and validation of
specifications against manufacturing scenarios in the NIST laboratory
setting, participation on industry-led specification development
efforts, and participation on standards adopting bodies.
The primary products of the project are publications and presentations
about the results and process of analysis and testing. There is an
emphasis on returning results to the source of the specification at an
early stage. Because of the dynamic nature of the subject, we will
take maximum advantage of Internet and Web technology to disseminate
results. However, we are committed to making the same results
available through meetings, papers, and articles. The purpose of this
report is to describe the review process and the proposed project
changes.
