Abstract:
The Product Data Exchange using STEP (PDES) is an emerging standard for the exchange of product information among various manufacturing applications. A software toolkit for manipulating PDES data has been developed at the National PDES Testbed at NIST. A technical overview of this PDES Toolkit is provided. Fundamental software libraries are described, and techniques for creating applications based on the Toolkit are discussed.

This document has been revised to reflect modifications in the implementation of Fed-X software to support the changes in the Express language.
