Introduction
The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) is moving
forward in providing and accessing information through the World Wide
Web by using the Mosaic software package, among other tools. The World
Wide Web is a seamless world in which all information, from any
source, can be accessed in a simple and consistent manner. Mosaic,
developed at the National Center
for Supercomputing Applications (NCSA), is a networked information
discovery, retrieval, and collaboration tool used to view documents
available through the World Wide Web.
This document was created for the following purposes:
- to help new users become more familiar with the World Wide Web concept
- to demonstrate how to use Mosaic and its capabilities
- to provide a pointer to other documents further describing the
World Wide Web and Mosaic
