NIST is actively creating a manufacturing environment, demonstrating the testing of key integration standards for today’s manufacturers. If you have a need in any of the following areas, please contact the NIST staff listed.
- Supply Chain Business Systems NIST is bringing together the software applications and interface specifications that will provide capabilities to satisfy the most immediate near-term needs in the integration of supply chain business systems. Contact Al Jones
- Production Management Systems NIST is bringing together the software applications and interfaces specifications that will provide capabilities to satisfy the most immediate near-term needs in the integration of production management systems in support of manufacturing operations. Contact Chuck McLean
- NIST is working on dimensional metrology products that support interface standards for components of dimensional metrology systems. For more information, please visit our Metrology Interoperability website.
- Product Engineering Systems NIST is bringing together the software applications and interfaces specifications that will provide capabilities to satisfy the most immediate near-term needs in the integration of design and engineering systems. Contact Ram Sriram
- Formal Ontology Development NIST is developing formal ontologies using emerging semantic methods such as Process Specification Language (PSL), Web Ontology Language (OWL) and Resource Description Framework (RDF), in support of the integration scenarios. Contact Conrad Bock·
- Process Specification Language and Tools. The Process Specification Language (PSL) defines a neutral representation for manufacturing processes. Process data is used throughout the life cycle of a product, from early indications of manufacturing process flagged during design, through process planning, validation, production scheduling, and control. In addition, the notion of process also underlies the entire manufacturing cycle, coordinating the workflow within engineering and shop floor manufacturing.
