A Workshop of the Intelligent Manufacturing
Systems (IMS) Program on Manufacturing
Research and Development (R&D) through
International Collaboration and Partnerships

National Institute of Standards and Technology
February 26, 2008

AML Building 215, Room C103 - C106

Establishing international research agreements in the five manufacturing technology platform priorities:

  • Sustainability
  • Energy Efficiency
  • Key Technologies
  • Standards
  • Education

The goal of this workshop is to facilitate the expansion of existing major industrial and governmental manufacturing R&D programs underway in the U.S. into the international arena by taking advantage of the partnerships and agreements put into place by the IMS program. The workshop is designed to bring together leaders of existing manufacturing R&D programs in the United States who might consider leveraging their work through international collaboration, and who are in a position to speak on behalf of their programs. The workshop will also enable participants to network and discuss advantages gained by sharing experiences, best practices, and developing a common global vision through an IMS Program (www.ims.org) agreement. The workshop is scheduled for one full day devoted to presentations and discussions from the United States IMS Action Team, various industry representatives, and potentially representatives from the European and Swiss IMS delegations. Time will be available the following morning for additional informal discussions and select technical tours at NIST.

On behalf of the U.S. IMS Action Team, we thank you for supporting the International Collaboration Workshop.
Presentations are linked below. Handouts are available by contacting U.S. IMS Regional Secretariat.
